Spooky self care weekend (15th – 17th) 🤗

Classy af

Friends, readers, country people lend me your ears. Let’s have a spooky weekend of self care, scares, and friendship. I invite you to join me in a weekend of horror movie and television indulgence and maybe some liquid or herbal courage. Cuddle with those you hold close and get your hearts racing with something scary. Invite friends over for a night so you’re not alone.

For us we will watch some of the classics Freddy, Jason, Michael, Sinister, and numerous ghost stories TV shows of the season. Celebrity ghost stories, Ghost Adventures, Home town horror and some others have been recent favorites. Take some time to enjoy nature’s changes over the next few weeks as we change to cooler weather. Sleeping has been so much easier recently. I do really feel most myself during Fall.

Maybe I could convince Nikki, Erin, Wife, and Jamie to watch the fear street film trilogy with me. Or Back 4 Blood gaming? Spooky nature outing? Creepy picnic! Obviously I need to make some plans. If you end up doing anything with your friends let me know by tagging me on Twitter or other social media if they work lol. Use hashtag #covencat to spread our community. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Spooktober so far.

Blessed be ❤

Fall Festivities!

Big Michael Myers looks after little Michael.

This is my family’s favorite season by far! We are always busy on fall weekends doing things with friends, finding flea markets/yard sales, and on nature trails where I find safe things to eat along the way. We usually have bonfires or cookouts too when the sweater weather is strong.

We’ve already planned an apple picking adventure for Oct. 13th I believe to get Wine Sap apples. They are an all around good eating/baking apple. This tradition of apples picking goes back 3 generations in my family. I’m hoping this year we will make some apple butter like my grandma used too. The kitchen will smell amazing!

Fall is such a magical season

Horror movies are a must in Oct so I will try to always re-watch 3 classic franchise, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street. If you have suggestions for actually scary movies that are a must see let me know! I’m always looking for new ways to loose what little sleep I get.

Videogames are lit this month! Not only is the Switch oled coming out so is Back for Blood, a Witch Dead by Daylight character, and State of Decay 2 recently got a sizable update. I am a happy horror honey. Diablo 2 is freshly out for all new systems that Gothic atmosphere is gloriously remastered. I haven’t picked it up yet but probably will.

My persona tarot cards

What are fall activities that you enjoy? I’m currently sitting in my den with windows open listening to the neighborhood, catching up on game news. Who’s changed all their passwords today? After that I’m gonna push for level 35 in The Outer World’s so we can continue to play the DLCs I treated myself too.

Blessed be my Coven Cats ❤

True Scary Stories #1

What a great hat you have sir.

True Scary Stories won the Twitter poll and I plan to deliver some spine tingling tales from myself and the extended families experiences. Plus I’ve asked for submissions of ghost stories, paranormal encounters, nightmares, local legends, or anything else that made your hackles rise to the blogs email, witchcorabell@gmail.com, please keep them coming!

I’m mulling a lot of things over in my mind as I think of what tale to tell first… I guess we will go back to a time when I was small and lived in a very old lock tenders house on a historic part of the Ohio Erie Canal. The Canals in that area are long since dried up and filled in but the old stones and other indicators of a bygone era are present. My folks wanted to live in the country so they jumped at the chance to own a piece of America history.

So we moved from my Dad’s neighborhood about 45min into the country. My patents went to fixing up the house and eventually we had a redone kitchen and I had a fancy playroom all to myself. It was about this time that both my parents started to have paranormal experiences in the home. The bedrooms were upstairs so one night my Dad was going down to get a drink and as he came back up the stairs he saw a civil war union solider coming down the stairs, he tipped his hat to my dad and disappeared. Dad at first thought it was a dream.

Photos of me with both of my parents. The one with Dad was at my home at the time.

Mom, to me, had a far more eerie experience. She has researched the house at length, she even at one time wrote a great paper about it but only got an B+, learning when it was build, changed hands, or saw deaths. One night while downstairs by herself she hears a small whisper saying, ‘Mom?’ She thinks it’s me but I’m asleep and Dad is at his 3rd shift security job at the time. My mom brushed it off but then it kept happening and the girl started to say other things like ‘Mom where are you?’ and other sounds of distress.

As for myself I inherited a bed that I rarely slept in when I was 4 and over. I wasn’t afraid of sleeping alone or anything I was afraid of the bed and what happened every time I slept in it. When my folks placed me in it after I fell asleep somewhere I would have the same nightmare.

Dislike

I would be either laying on the bed on my side or in the vivid dream I was in the back of a old style bel-air car, it didn’t have any back seat belts in the back, and I noticed I was at a gas station. An old man with white hair and a unsettling laugh pushes his fingers through my mattress and rummaged around in my side as he said tickling me. This freaked me out so much because it felt very real… the bed got eventually passed on to another family member. I wonder if it happened to them too.
